About Australia Diving Guide

Meet the passionate team behind the most comprehensive resource for diving adventures in Australia

Our Story

Australia Diving Guide began in 2018 when three passionate divers—Emma Pearson, Michael Chen, and Thomas O'Connor—met during a liveaboard expedition to the remote Coral Sea. Having collectively explored over 200 dive sites across Australia, they discovered a common frustration: the lack of comprehensive, accurate information for international divers planning trips to Australia's diverse underwater ecosystems.

After spending months researching and compiling their knowledge, they launched Australia Diving Guide as a small blog that quickly gained traction in the diving community. By 2020, the project had evolved into a full-fledged resource with seasonal guides, equipment recommendations, and insider tips from local dive operators.

Today, our team has expanded to include marine biologists, underwater photographers, and diving instructors. We're dedicated to providing up-to-date, reliable information that helps divers of all experience levels discover Australia's underwater wonders while promoting sustainable diving practices and marine conservation.

What Divers Say About Us

James Wilson - Testimonial

"Australia Diving Guide was absolutely essential for our three-week diving trip along the east coast. Their seasonal recommendations were spot-on—we visited the Ribbon Reefs during minke whale season as suggested and had multiple encounters with these amazing creatures. The gear recommendations saved us from packing items that wouldn't have been suitable for the conditions."

"As a diving instructor bringing students to Australia for the first time, I needed comprehensive resources that covered everything from marine life identification to local regulations. Australia Diving Guide provided exactly that, with downloadable briefing materials that my students found incredibly helpful. Their site-specific current information was particularly valuable for our safety planning."

"The underwater photography guides on Australia Diving Guide were instrumental in helping me capture award-winning images during my trips to Western Australia. Their detailed information about seasonal marine life movements helped me time my visit perfectly to photograph the rare weedy seadragon. I particularly appreciated their specific location information that most guides keep vague."
